Ever thought of entering the Cowgirl Queen Contest at the Iowa State Fair? Well we are proud to announce that the Great Jones County Fair is now hosting its own Cowgirl Queen Contest! There will be a Junior and Senior division. The winner from either division will be sponsored to compete in the same contest at the State Fair!

Friday, July 19 @ 12 Noon
Berndes Center
Adults (18 & over) - Youth (through 17 years)
Three divisions for each age group:
• Chocolate Chip Only
• Chocolate chip and One Other Ingredient
• Open Ingredient
Chips may be white or brown chocolate
Awards - Plaques in each division with $100 cash prize to be pro-rated to winners in each division. Cookies will be donated to Camp Courageous after contest. Enter at table upstairs in Berndes Center on Friday between 10 a.m. and 12 noon. Six cookies per plate. Sponsored by the Jones County Fair and co-sponsored by Subway of Monticello and Anamosa.

Cookie Stacking Competition
Friday, July 19, 2024 at 12:30 p.m.
Learning Lab, Youth Development Center
Categories
4 and under 5-7 years old 8-12 years old
Rules
- Contestants will have 30 seconds to create the highest possible single stack of cookies.
- Cookies may not be organized prior to stacking.
- No adhesives, supports, or pyramids may be used.
- Cookies may not be broken or twisted apart.
- At the end of 30 seconds, contestants must remove hands and the stack must remain standing by itself for three seconds.
- If a child’s stack is knocked down by another child’s stack during the 30 second wait period, it will be counted. If it is knocked down during competition, there will be a restart.
Prizes will be awarded in each category.
