Cowgirl Queen Divisions
GJCF Junior Cowgirl Queen
** Contestant must be 10-15 years old, determined as of January 1 of the year of
the contest, a resident of Jones County or actively participate in the Great Jones County Fair (may live in a Jones county borderline town.) Past Junior Cowgirl Queen winners are not eligible.
GJCF Senior Cowgirl Queen
** Contestant must be 16-26 years old, determined as of January 1 of the year of
the contest, a resident of Jones County or actively participate in the Great Jones County fair (may live in a Jones county borderline town). Past Senior Cowgirl Queen winners are not eligible.
Competition
** Register by emailing Heidi Hall at hfgansen@gmail.com, with your name, address, phone number, and birthdate. Please put “GJCF Cowgirl Queen Contest” in the subject line. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, if not please call Heidi at 563-543-6583
** Each age division will compete separately
** Judging will be based 50% on beauty, attractiveness, and appropriateness of Western
attire and 50% on horsemanship (horses not to count), “Queen Salute” and a pattern.
** Winners will be announced at the end of the event and work with director to file
paperwork to compete at State Fair in August.
** Each winner will need to provide a copy of their birth certificate to submit with
application for state competition
Sponsorship
** The GJCF will cover the cost of entry to and parking pass for the state competition
**Please do NOT compete for this title if you are unable to compete at State Fair
** Each winner will also receive a sash and a crown
** Each winner will receive a cash prize as well
** Each participant will receive a prize(s) for competing
Jones County Beef Producers will be announcing the 2022 Beef Ambassadors during the program.

Daily Gate Admission
Wed-Fri: $5 from 8AM-1PM, $10 after 1PM
Saturday and Sunday: $10 all day.
Children 10 and under: Always free
Gate admission can be purchased at the gates. Before the fair season gate admission can be purchased at the fair office or the banks of Jones County. During the fair season gate admissions can be purchased at the gates. Gate admission is not included in the cost of an event ticket. Children 10 years of age and under get free gate admission.

Season Passes
Gets you in the Gate for the 5 days of the fair. Cost is $30 if purchased in before June 1 and $33 thereafter. Available by coming in or calling the Fair Office
Also available at many banks in Monticello, Anamosa, Cascade and Wyoming.
