2026 Fair Queen Contest

Congratulations on taking the first step to becoming the 2026 Great Jones County Fair Queen!

This is your moment to step into the spotlight and become part of the Soundtrack of the Summer.

We are so excited you’re considering the 2026 Great Jones County Fair Queen Contest—an experience filled with confidence, connection, and unforgettable memories. From building lifelong friendships to growing your leadership, communication, and interview skills… this is where your story takes center stage.

Candidates must reside in Jones County—or an adjoining county if the majority of activities are in Jones County. Judging is based on personality (attitude, appearance, and awareness), leadership and citizenship (community involvement), and overall charm, poise, and presence.

What to Expect:

• Individual & group interviews with judges
• On-stage questions
• Formal gown presentation
• A short skit sharing what the Fair means to you

Before the Spotlight:

Candidates will take part in:

• A day to relax, connect, and get to know one another
• A workshop day to build confidence and own the stage
• The 4th of July Parade, representing Jones County

The 2026 Queen and Princess will represent the Fair throughout the year, with the Queen advancing to the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest in August.

Scholarships Awarded:

Queen: $500
Princess: $250

Important Dates for Contestants:

Applications Due – Monday, June 5^th
Contest Night – Sunday, July 12^th at 6:00PM. (Doors open at 5:30PM)
Coronation – Tuesday, July 21^st at 6:00PM.
